Thursday May 23rd, 2019 - Rain or Shine
Welcome to the 20th Anniversary Troy Hidden Garden Tour, a self-guided walking tour of over 35 private backyard gardens in Historic Troy, NY. Gardeners throughout the Historic Sage, Washington Park, Riverside and downtown neighborhoods open their hidden backyards one evening each year to share the beauty and raise money for a very good cause. Every year, the number of garden goers grow, from a few dozen visitors in the beginning to several hundred in recent years. All proceeds from ticket sales benefit Troy’s Historic Prospect Park. As the gardens are small and may include stairs and unpaved or cobblestone paths, there is limited accessibility.
DOGS, STROLLERS, ETC.
No dogs in gardens. Access for strollers is limited.
FREE LIGHT REFRESHMENTS AND REST ROOM STOP AT CARMEN'S CAFE.
This year’s tour is dedicated to the memory of Nina Pattison, a long time Hidden Garden Tour organizer and Troy native. In past years, you would have met Nina at the checkin table in her carriage house as she gladly took your entry fee in return for your ticket and a map. This is the first year without Nina. She will be sorely missed.
If you would like to make an additional donation to the Friends of Prospect Park in Nina’s name, you can do so on the Tickets page or at the checkin table at the tour. Nina would be honored.
Free event parking is provided at the Russell Sage College lot, located at First and Division streets. Additional free parking is available in lots farther south on First Street.
Required check-in near Russell Sage College parking lot, corner of First and Division streets. You will pick up your tour map.The Hidden Garden Tour map is also a ticket for free light refreshments and a rest room stop, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Carmen's Cafe, located at 198 First St.
